Lucas di Grassi secured his spectacular victory at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

One of the decisive factors for the triumph in Mexico in a thrilling and turbulent race was the efficiency of the all-electric Audi e-tron FE05.

5th place for Audi in the team classification
While his direct rivals in the fight for victory had to conserve their energy in the final laps, the Audi driver was able to attack fully until the very end and catch Pascal Wehrlein in the Mahindra, who was leading from the start, with a breathtaking overtaking maneuver before the finish line.
With his first victory of the season Lucas di Grassi improved to fourth place in the overall standings of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler maintains fifth place in the team standings after 4 of 13 races.
Head of Audi Motorsport Dieter Gass: "In Formula E, it's simply always worth watching until the very end. It was an incredible race with an incredible finale. I've never seen such an overtaking maneuver practically on the finish line - and in Mexico, where overtaking is virtually impossible."

Good chances for the Swiss pilot
Sébastien Buemi would have had a good chance of claiming his first podium finish in Formula E in Mexico City. After a spectacular rear-end collision by Brazilian Nelson Piquet Jr., the race had to be interrupted for around half an hour on the third lap.
After the restart, Buemi found himself in 4th position. As a result, Sébastien Buemi had to defend himself against the attacks of the Portuguese Antonio Felix Da Costa - and he did so successfully.

A poker game when it comes to energy management
When Sebastien Buemi approached his Nissan teammate Oliver Rowland in the closing stages, the first podium of the season was in the air for the 2016 Formula E champion. But both Sebastien Buemi and the Briton risked too much and miscalculated their energy management. The result: Both Nissan cars stopped on the penultimate lap.

Third place for Edoardo Mortara
Italian-Swiss dual citizen Edoardo Mortara also benefited from Pascal Wehrlein's demotion. The Geneva-born driver with a Swiss license finished third behind Antonio Felix Da Costa.
The new leader in the overall Formula E standings is Belgian Jérôme D'Ambrosio, who finished fourth in Mexico. The fifth Formula E race of the season will be held in Hong Kong on March 10.
