Chevrolet: A Vette for Switzerland 🎥

FOR REAL FANS That's where the joy comes in. The Corvette Stingray is now available as a coupe or convertible in a particularly well-equipped Swiss Edition. AutoSprintCH has taken it for a spin.

Corvette Stingray
The roof of the Corvette Stingray can be easily stowed in the trunk despite the mid-engine and two particulate filters.

The heart of the Corvette Stingray is the 482-hp 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, which accelerates the car to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. After the first few meters, you can already feel what's going on. The Vette wants to be challenged and reacts to the slightest pressure on the gas pedal.

Instead of the original 495 hp, as is usual in the States, the Swiss Edition produces 482 hp. The reason: In order to meet the Euro 6d emissions standard, an additional particulate filter had to be installed for Europe, which causes the Corvette to lose 13 hp.

Nevertheless, there is no lack of power. There is plenty of it. We noticed from the gas station attendant's smile that the consumption doesn't really fit in with the time. Very well. The mid-engine is perfectly damped. Up front, you can easily have a conversation.

A mixture of classic and modern
Inside, the Corvette presents a blend of classic and modern. The center console leans toward the driver. On the right half is a long row of switches for the air conditioning. Here, the seats can be heated or ventilated, or simply the temperature can be changed.

At first glance, the concentrated armada of buttons causes confusion, but after a short period of familiarization, the arrangement proves to be clear. A closer look reveals the logic behind it, as all control functions for the driver and front passenger are separated.

In addition to the already complete equipment of the base model, the limited Swiss Edition comes with these options, among others, at no extra charge: aluminum wheels with trident spokes, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, damping system, Performance Traction Management, Front Lift with memory function, and GT2 bucket seats.

Comfort and practicality for everyday use
The weight-optimized roof can be lifted out of its anchors in a few easy steps (video and gallery center). Unlike some other mid-engine supercars, the part fits in the trunk in one piece and is securely locked there by the anchors.

In addition to convincing driving dynamics, a Corvette has always offered a great deal of practical everyday suitability and comfort, even on long journeys. And that in any weather.

About the prices: There are six color and interior combinations, coupes in black, red and orange starting at 119,300 francs, or convertibles in white, gray or blue for 126,700 francs. A lot of money, but a lot of car for it.
