The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 showed superior wet braking and dry handling performance in initial road tests with a Volkswagen GTI Komfort. The new tire follows the multi-award winning Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 series.
Improved braking distances and lap times
The high-performance tires use technologies and rubber compounds that significantly improve braking distances and lap times without losing sight of everyday suitability. As before, the driver gets direct feedback when steering, braking or when the vehicle is about to swerve. With these high-end products, Goodyear returns to the prestigious Super Sport segment.
Sustainable grip and safe handling
The development of the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport has incorporated the experience gained in the construction of sporty tires. Thus, the tire offers sustainable grip and safe handling. With its closed tread pattern on the outer shoulder, the tire responds well to changes in direction, while the stiff sidewall design improves handling without compromising ride comfort.
Improvement of the outer profile ribs
Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport is designed primarily for dry conditions; however, wet performance is also assured. And it works like this: Two rubber compounds are arranged in a U-shape. This combines outer tread ribs optimized for use on dry roads in the two shoulders with three center ribs optimized for use in the wet. Drivers thus benefit from cornering handling in dry conditions and braking performance in wet conditions.
Dry grip and steering precision
The Goodyear Eagle F 1 SuperSport R increases grip and steering precision on and off the race track. The tire gets its high cornering stability from stabilizing bridges in the outer tread groove, which reduce the deformation of the tread blocks under extreme cornering forces. Even at high speeds at the limit, there is no feeling of insecurity. Steering precision and feedback have also been improved, as the tire's contact patch has been optimized to distribute pressure evenly.
Racing tires with road approval
Most race-oriented is the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS, a street-legal tire that lets you push the envelope on the track.
