In 2003, the professionals put the Hartmann SP1 on the wheels. It came along low and wide. It anticipated the founding of the Vansport.de brand, under which not only Sprinters but also Vito, Citan, V-Class and even X-Class models have been customized ever since.

Electronically controlled force distribution
Having previously gained off-road experience with the 447 series (V-Class and Vito), the third Sprinter generation (907 series) is now also available for off-road use.

Daimler laid a good foundation for this with the Sprinter 4×4 model: The Sprinter is already equipped ex works with all-wheel drive for rough terrain, including electronically controlled power distribution and optional gear reduction.

A height increase of eleven centimeters at the front and eight centimeters at the rear compared with the standard Sprinters not only provides ample ground clearance, but also ramp angles suitable for off-road use.

Aluminum underride guards protect the engine, transmission and rear axle differential.

More traction and protection off road
Massive light-alloy wheels in 18-inch format with chunky 265/60R18 all-terrain tires give the all-wheel-drive Sprinter optimum traction off paved roads. Aluminum underride guards protect the engine, transmission and rear axle differential from damage.

The Sprinter 4×4 is made even more robust, both visually and technically, by the addition of matte black side sill tubes. The door sill and the loading sill of all Sprinters are optionally protected by StarBlack trim.
