Award: Golden plug for Schaffhausen

Following Nyon (2017), Basel-Stadt (2018), the canton of Ticino (2019), and the cantons of Bern and Thurgau (2020, ex aequo), the canton in eastern Switzerland was able to convince with legal adjustments in the construction and energy sectors and with its incentive program. The high rate of new registrations of plug-in vehicles prove the decision. Golden Plug was awarded for the fifth time.

Proven experts on the jury of experts
Patrick Rinaldi, energy specialist, accepted the award on behalf of the canton of Schaffhausen. The jury was joined by Anne Wolf, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Swiss Post and Vice President of Swiss eMobility, Christoph Schreyer, Head of Energy Efficient Transport at the Swiss Federal Office of Energy SFOE, Marco Piffaretti, electromobility pioneer, and Krispin Romang, Managing Director of Swiss eMobility.

Sustainability and economic viability
At the Mobility Arena, renowned players from the transport and energy sectors, business, politics and science will shed light on how electrification is progressing in private and public transport in presentations and panel discussions.

Issues of technical feasibility, environmental sustainability, and economic viability and political enforceability were discussed.

Result: In order for electromobility to be accepted by the population, framework conditions are needed that promote electromobility.

Recognition of the measures taken by the authorities
To recognize the work of these official measures, the Swiss eMobility association awards the "Golden Plug" annually at the Electromobility Congress to a canton, city or municipality that is making exemplary efforts to develop electromobility.
