The Arctic Circle is still in the depths of winter. In the snowy landscape, temperatures are often 30°C below freezing. As indescribably beautiful as this region is, it is not made for Central Europeans. And how does an electric car cope there?

Cupra Born
The world premiere for the first all-electric Cupra developed in Spain is scheduled for early May.

More than 1000 tests over 30 000 kilometers
A circuit has been laid out on a six-square-kilometer frozen lake, where Cupra engineers spent two years testing the electrically powered Born.

In the final development phase before its world premiere, the new model was pushed to the limit under the most difficult conditions. The Cupra Born had to prove itself in more than 1,000 tests and over 30,000 kilometers.

Testing of driving stability and braking system
4000 kilometers from the development center in Martorell near Barcelona, the DCC adaptive chassis control system was extensively tested on the frozen lake. The inside of the circuit is smoother, the outside rougher. This makes it possible to conduct informative tests of the driving stability and the braking system.

Comfort is also taken care of. Even at -30° C, the electrically driven Born delivers maximum heating power from the very first second. So nothing stands in the way of its first official appearance.
