Michel Zemp has purchased the Norma M20 FC with Honda 2.0 engine from Herbert Hunziker. The car is like new, the Aargauer moved the beautiful racing sports car with vintage 2016 only at a few hill climbs. From now on you will see it more often in use.

Search for a new challenge
Zemp has so far driven and won in a Cupra TCR. In 2018, he was the fastest driver of such a touring car except for Massongex, where Patrick Flammer beat him in an Opel Astra. He also edged out four TCR competitors at the 2018 FIA Hill Climb Masters in Gubbio to cap a successful season.

What made the 31-year-old car mechanic from Escholzmatt change vehicles and categories?

Michel Zemp: "It appealed to me to drive something different for a change. I'm now familiar with front-wheel drive. During a test at the Anneau du Rhin, I sensed that such a racing sports car suits me. That's why I'm now looking for this new challenge."

The first season is an apprenticeship year
After further test drives, Zemp will make his sports car debut at the beginning of May at the Eschdorf hill climb in Luxembourg. After that, he plans to compete in all Swiss hillclimb races.

Zemp's Cupra TCR will remain on the Swiss scene. A new challenge for Urs Zürcher, too.

He now has to learn how to handle an E2 sports car quickly, just as he did with the TCR touring car, which is not easy to master. But he's not stressing about it, saying the first season is an apprenticeship year.

Zemp was able to sell the Cupra to Urs Zürcher, who is returning to the Swiss tracks after a few years break (drove a BMW 320i in Group E1).

Help from the master
Michel Zemp will be doing the driving with his enthusiastic dad Tony and brother Sandro (who also races). He will be assisted in word and deed by racing car master Marcel Steiner.

We wish you good luck with your new adventure!
