The FFSA report from last year's race in Turckheim shows what spectators can expect in picturesque surroundings. Only production car winner Pierre Courroye will not be on the grid in 2021 with his McLaren GT3.

Swiss, German or Austrian fans of hill climbs or rallies do not have to travel far this weekend to experience this racing sport live.

A hill climb of superlatives
In Alsace, barely an hour's drive from Basel, one of the best-attended hillclimb races in our latitudes takes place. More than 70 (!) open-wheel racing sports cars are lined up in the 230-name Start list for the 65th edition of the Course de Côte Turckheim-3 Epis, led by champion and track record holder Geoffrey Schatz and FIA Hill Climb Cup champion Sébastien Petit.

In the race for the French, Belgian and Luxembourg mountain championship on the approximately 6-kilometer-long track, some Swiss (Michel Zemp, Philip Egli, Joel Grand, Bruno Ianniello and others), Germans, Austrians and Italians are also in the mix.

Spectators can only enter the track with a 3G certificate; in the paddock in Turckheim, masks are the only compulsory requirement. Tickets are available at the box office.

Free entrance in Arosa
At the Arosa ClassicCar hill climb, the focus is on historic vehicles with or without road registration. The lone favorite among the 175 named competitors (record) is Thomas Amweg in the Martini BMW F2, who is aiming for his sixth consecutive day's victory. There is more competition in the competition group of the touring cars and GT as well as in the fields driving for uniformity.

Spectator access is free along the race course from Langwies to Arosa, with a charge only for the grandstands and VIP areas. Furthermore, no Covid certificates will be checked at the trackside and at the catering stands in the finish area, but for the paddock and all other event areas.

Rally big fight at the foot of Mont Blanc
The Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine south of Lake Geneva, which is part of the French and Swiss championship, also has a record number of participants. With around 30 (!) top R5 cars, the Swiss delegation led by Sébastien Carron (2020 ninth overall), defending champion Ivan Ballinari and SM leader Mike Coppens will at best be in contention for a top 10 finish among the French.

A total of 16 special stages over 187.88 kilometers are scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Further information can be found on the Internet.

Those who like rally action will get their money's worth in nearby France. Even record world champion Sébastien Loeb is taking part.

GP return to Zandvoort
A lot of racing can also be enjoyed at home in front of the TV set. After the farce of Belgium, where persistent rain prevented a race and there was a classification disputed by many fans and insiders after a few laps behind the safety car, everyone wants real racing back.

The Dutch GP, held for the first time since 1985, is likely to be the most atmospheric Formula 1 race in two years and the now modernized Zandvoort circuit a madhouse for Max Verstappen's fans. After winning Spa without a fight, the Red Bull Honda driver is now just three points behind world championship leader Lewis Hamilton. Another win for the local hero would mean a swap of places at the top of the standings.

The 13th World Championship round of the year will be broadcast live on SRF info on Sunday from 2.20 p.m. (until 4.50 p.m.), just like qualifying the day before (2.55 p.m. - 4.10 p.m.). Commentator is Michael Stäuble.

Need to catch up for Nico Müller
For its fifth race weekend in 2021, the DTM will compete at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg this weekend. The Halftime score after eight of 16 scheduled races makes it clear that Nico Müller (Audi R8) in particular finally needs a very good weekend in order not to lose touch with the top of the standings.

After his podium at the Nürburgring, however, Philip Ellis (Mercedes-AMG) is in a better starting position. The driver from Zug is aiming for his second win of the season, which would put him further ahead.

Both DTM races will be broadcast on Sat1 on free TV from 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (start 1.30 p.m.). All practice sessions, qualifying sessions, races and much more is also available on the streaming portal DTM Grid  to see.

No rest for Emil Frey Racing
Just one week after the two sprint races at Brands Hatch, the GT World Challenge Europe continues at the Nürburgring, this time with the fourth Endurance Cup race of 2021.

Currently, Emil Frey Racing is still in third place overall as well as second in the Sprint Championship and seventh in the Endurance standings despite the disappointing performance in England. In the Silver Cup, the Swiss trio of Ricardo Feller, Alex Fontana and Rolf Ineichen are at the top of the standings, just like their team.

All practice sessions and the three-hour race on Sunday from 2:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. can be seen on the YouTube channel or the homepage of the race series can be followed live.

The Lamborghini #14 of Fontana and Feller has been the best car from the Safenwil team several times so far.

The next 24-hour race
For those who still do not have enough automotive sports with this wide offer, in between and all night can enjoy the 24 hours of Barcelona on YouTube or follow it live in the livestream on the homepage of the organizer of the 24H Series. The start is on Saturday at 12 o'clock, a livetiming is available under this Link.

The provisional Start list features several drivers and, with Karen Gaillard and Jasmin Preisig, also two female drivers from Switzerland. The leader in the touring car division is Autorama Motorsport by Wolf-Power Racing with two VW Golf GTI TCR.

It's a special race for factory driver Patric Niederhauser who, with Car Collection Motorsport, is in charge of the race premiere of the not yet homologated Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO2.

The GT cars and touring cars from the 24H Series line up for their fifth race of the season on Saturday.
