For years, the Clio Cup Central Europe has been the preferred terrain of Andreas Stucki and his father Sepp, with whom he runs the family team. Against drivers from all over Europe, the garage owner from Schmerikon on the Upper Lake of Zurich has been battling for race wins and the championships on various Central and Eastern European circuits for nine years.

He never quite managed to win the title, but he did manage several podium finishes in the overall standings. Last year's third-place finisher in the championship and brilliant race winner at the Clio Open in the run-up to Formula 1 in Hockenheim will not make another attempt until next year.
Andreas Stucki: "The long-lasting uncertainty as to when and how the borders may now be crossed has curbed our race preparations. Participation in the replacement dates at the end of October and in November for the postponed races from spring are simply not possible for me as a garage owner. In addition, there is a risk that if a second wave occurs, the season will have to be cut short prematurely."
Reason
After all these considerations, reason triumphed over the racing driver's heart in the end.
Andreas Stucki: "Since 2011, I have only missed one race in the Clio Cup Bohemia and then in the Clio Cup Central Europe. But we have now made the decision to take a break. Instead, we are already focusing on the 2021 season with the new Renault Clio V Cup. The decision was not easy for me, but business comes first at this particular time."
