Motorsport: Daniel Allemann's third strike

The German team Herberth Precote Motorsport won a race of the FIA Endurance Series in Barcelona for the third time in a row. Daniel Allemann from Solothurn played a part in this as a driver. Third victory in a row: Daniel Allemann brings the Herberth Porsche to the finish line after the Barcelona 24 Hours as first of the 64 teams that started, just as he did earlier at Zandvoort and Le Castellet.

Listening to Daniel Allemann, it all sounds so simple - but it's not. "You need luck - and a good car," says the 58-year-old gentleman racer from Breitenbach, summing up his success. "And we didn't make the slightest mistake as drivers. Otherwise, you can't do that at all." Exactly. In this way, the Swiss also won the 24 Hours of Barcelona with the three Germans Alfred and Robert Renauer and Ralf Bohn after the 12h Zandvoort and the 24h Le Castellet. On lap 16 Robert Renauer took the lead with the Porsche 911 GT3 R. After 662 laps, the lead was 6 laps over a Lamborghini and 18 over a Ferrari.

Champions in their class (from left): Hofor Racing from Eggenwil with Kenneth Heyer, Christiaan Frankenhout, Roland Eggimann and Chantal Kroll with her father Michael.

Hofor Racing is confirmed as champion in the GT3 class
The goal set was also exceeded by the Widberg Motorsport-supported Hofor Racing team with Chantal and Michael Kroll, Roland Eggimann as well as Kenneth Heyer (D) and Christiaan Frankenhout (NL). A seventh place overall would have been enough to secure the championship title in the top class of GT3 sports cars early. After 16 hours, the Swiss Mercedes-AMG SLS was in second place behind the Herberth Porsche when the alternator and battery had to be replaced. Nevertheless, it was enough for fifth place overall and second place in the A6-Am class.

Fredy Barth finished 7th overall with Jean-Paul von Burg and Oliver Ditzler, who normally compete in the Porsche Cup Suisse, and Jürgen Krebs (D) on a Lamborghini Huracan. With the same model from Sportec, Christoph Lenz and Nicolas Stürzinger were ninth. The Presenza.eu Racing Team from Winterthur brought its two Renault Clio IV through in second and third place in class A2. Mathias Schläppi and his teammates finished fourth in class A3 on a Peugeot 208 GTi.
