First double winner in the Lotus V6 Cup Suisse

SWISS SPORT On the initiative of Lotus-West AG, a new Cup is announced for all owners of V6 sports cars of the British brand. At the first two races in Frauenfeld and Saanen, Dino Wintsch and Norbert Sieber, two well-known fast people, set the pace. Norbert Sieber with his Lotus Exige V6: The man from eastern Switzerland initiated the Cup for the attractive British V6 sports cars with Lotus-West.

The Lotus V6 Cup is not an official one-make cup, but it is nevertheless an enrichment for the Swiss grassroots sports scene. Years after the disappearance of the Lest (Lotus Elise Swiss Trophy), there is now once again a competition aimed specifically at owners of the Lotus Exige and Evora V6 (3.5-liter engines from Toyota).

The initiator is Norbert Sieber, who has been the branch manager of Lotus-West AG in St. Gallen for two years and a long-time participant in the former Lest. "Customers approached me, and this is how this cup was set up in casual conversations," explains Sieber. It's not about putting Lotus-West in the foreground, because customers of Kumschick, Pfenninger or other dealers should also be able to participate. We just do the support and remain neutral."

Eight Lotus Exige V6s gathered for the premiere in Frauenfeld on April 22, and the same started in Saanen on May 7.

At the premiere on April 22 in Frauenfeld and at the second race on May 6 in Saanen, seven Exige S 350s and one Exige Sport 380 were found. These were given their own class and rating in the L4 category. The Exige 380 has 30 more horsepower, but it has to come as standard. The Exige 350, on the other hand, may have modifications to the chassis but must be registered.

The same podium twice: Norbert Sieber, double winner Dino Wintsch and Kurt Andermatt.

Both under the sun of Frauenfeld and in the rain of Saanen, Dino Wintsch from Hombrechtikon emerged as the first winner in the Lotus V6 Cup. Norbert Sieber took second place both times. Third place on the podium also went twice to Kurt Andermatt. All three were already among the best in the Lotus Elise Swiss Trophy.

Three mountain slaloms in Vorarlberg and two sprint tests in France
The next race will take place on May 26/27 in the form of a mountain slalom in Damüls near the Austrian border, followed by two more mountain slaloms from the Vorarlberg Racing and Rally Club in Gargellen and Eichenberg. In between, the fourth race will be a sprint test on the Circuit Chenevières in France, where the fastest lap time within a time window is decisive. The sporting finale in the Lotus V6 Cup Suisse will be the second sprint stage on the Anneau du Rhin in Alsace on October 14.
