Many guests from national and international racing followed the invitation of publisher Edi Engelberger to the vernissage of the yearbook RENNSPORT SCHWEIZ 2018 at the Eventcenter Seelisberg on Thursday evening. Already for the 25th time it is published by Aktiv-Verlag in Stans.

Founder and first long-time author until 2015 is the former racing driver and journalist Stefan Lüscher. Despite an incurable illness, he and his wife Philomène still actively take care of the acquisition and care of advertisers, without whose support the uninterrupted publication of this unique yearbook series could not be realized.

Bound expertise
In 2016, Lüscher's decades-long colleague and current AutoSprintCH editor Peter Wyss took over the reins and editorial responsibility. As since its beginnings in 1984, the focus is on the national automobile championships in slalom, hillclimb and rallying.

All one-make cups (Abarth, Lotus, OPC, Porsche and Suzuki) are also covered. Several chapters are devoted to karting and motorcycle racing, as well as to historic racing.

They also feature in the 2018 Yearbook: Le Mans triple winner Marcel and AutoSprintCH editor Peter Wyss with Jndia and Urs Erbacher, who are delighted to have their own chapter on drag racing.

Review of international successes
International focal points are Formula 1 with the rise of the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team to the top of the midfield and Formula E with the first major Swiss circuit race since 1954.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans with the longed-for triumph of Sébastien Buemi and Toyota, the DTM with the podium finishes of Nico Müller and Edoardo Mortara, GT racing with the successes of Emil Frey Racing and the problems of Tom Lüthi and Dominique Aegerter in the motorcycle world championship are further central topics.

For the first time, the emerging sport of drifting also makes an appearance in the yearbook thanks to the international successes of Seelisberg instructor Yves Meyer.

All results and championship tables
The yearbook, elaborately produced with great attention to detail, has been an integral part of the Swiss motorsports scene since 1984. In 37 chapters, it not only offers plenty of richly illustrated reading material, but also serves as a valuable reference work thanks to its comprehensive statistics section with the results, final tables and final standings of all national championships (automobile, motorcycle and karting).

Ideal Christmas gift for fans and collectors
The RENNSPORT SCHWEIZ 2018 yearbook comprises 382 pages thread-bound in 21 x 26 cm format with around 800 photos and hardcover. The price is 65 francs plus 9 francs for postage and packaging.

It is available directly from the publisher Aktiv Verlag in 6370 Stans by phone 041 619 15 72, via Internet or in bookstores (ISBN 978-3-909191-71-1).

Anyone who orders it now or in the next few days, for themselves or as a Christmas gift for friends, will have it in their mailbox before the holidays.
