The Opel Ampera-e is available for purchase in Switzerland as of today. The first vehicles are scheduled for delivery in the 3rd quarter.

This is primarily due to its suitability for everyday use: With a range of up to 520 kilometers according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) with a full battery, it marks a new chapter in automotive history. Around 90 percent of drivers who commute to work every day could use the Ampera-e with its 60 kWh battery just like a normal car.

Numerous prizes
The Ampera-e has won several awards, including "Best Product of the Year 2017". At launch, the manufacturer is initially serving countries with an existing electric infrastructure and/or electric mobility expectation markets. In Norway, the first Opel Ampera-e has already been delivered to customers. Other markets to follow are Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland, which will receive the second-largest volume in Europe. The Opel Ampera e is available from CHF 41,900. This price includes vehicle including the 60 kWh battery. There is also the option to lease the vehicle (e.g. 48 months / 10'000 km/year for CHF 419.-/month). The first vehicles will arrive at dealerships in the 3rd quarter of 2017. The warranty on the electric drive is eight years or 160,000 km.

Full suitability for everyday use
With 520 kilometers without charging stop, the Opel offers at least 100 kilometers more range than the best competitor (based on the NEDC). In reality, however, factors such as route characteristics, weather conditions, driving style or payload influence the range. Opel has therefore subjected the Ampera-e to another measurement according to the WLTP procedure (globally harmonized test procedure) that will be required in the future. The values obtained there are closer to the real driving behavior; here, the range is still an excellent 380 kilometers. With regard to charging stations for customers, Opel is working with the specialists at Mobility House, as are a number of other e-mobile suppliers.

Compact on the outside, spacious on the inside
From the outside, it is similarly compact to the Opel Corsa, for example. However, the interior is more spacious than that of the larger Astra. The entire passenger compartment is placed above the batteries installed in the underbody. This allows for an elevated seating position and gives passengers an SUV feel. The maximum torque of 360 Newton meters is responsible for the temperament, while the output is equivalent to 150 kW/204 hp. The compact car accelerates from zero to 50 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and the intermediate sprint when overtaking from 80 to 120 km/h is achieved in 4.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 150 km/h in favor of the range.
