The future standard also takes into account driving situations in real road traffic (Real Driving Emissions). Euro 6d-temp-compliant gasoline engines are already available across the entire Opel model range - from Adam, Karl and Corsa to Astra, Cascada and Insignia as well as Mokka X, Crossland X, Grandland X and Zafira. In addition, there are diesel variants with the particularly efficient exhaust gas aftertreatment (Selective Catalytic Reduction), which already meet the strict limits.

Four fully electric models on sale by 2020
Opel Head of Development Christian Müller: "In the transition to the Euro 6d Temp standard, we want to take a pioneering role in reducing vehicle emissions. The next steps will be four electrified models by 2020, including the Corsa as a battery-electric vehicle and the Grandland X as our first plug-in hybrid. By 2024, we will offer a fully electric or hybrid variant for every passenger car model."

Opel Zafira with new 1.6-liter gasoline direct-injection engine
In order to optimize exhaust gas aftertreatment in accordance with the Euro 6d TEMP standard, not only are numerous newly developed engines being used, Opel is also equipping current, already efficient engines with additional modern technologies for this purpose. The Zafira, for example, gets a new version of the 1.6-liter gasoline direct-injection engine. This means that all Zafira units now have a particulate filter - gasoline engines included. The new 136-hp gasoline variant is available with a six-speed manual transmission and six-speed automatic.
