BUSINESS CLASS For its world premiere, Volkswagen presents photos and facts of the completely newly developed Passat station wagon. In a few days, the car will be shown to the public for the first time at the IAA Mobility in Munich.

new VW Passat
The VW Passat Variant will be on display at IAA Mobility from September 5 to 10.

With more than 34 million units sold, the Passat is the second best-selling VW model of all time after the Golf - and even ahead of the Beetle. The all-new Passat Estate will roll onto our roads in early 2024. The comfortable newcomer can be ordered with an adaptive chassis and new Ergo Active seats with pneumatic pressure point massage as options. The intuitive features of the digitalized cockpit landscape have also been completely redesigned. On request, the Passat can also park itself and cover long distances with assistance.

Plug-in hybrids and 48 V mild hybrid

Two newly developed plug-in hybrid drive systems with a system output of 150 and 200 kW (204 and 272 hp) are available. In combination with the 19.7 kWh battery, they enable purely electric ranges of around 100 WLTP kilometers. With this distance, the new Passat Estate becomes an electric car in many everyday situations. The e-Hybrid can charge at up to 50 kW at fast charging stations. The electric motor and 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine allow a total range of around 1000 kilometers.

Also new is a 48 V mild hybrid drive with 110 kW (150 hp) that enables sailing without a combustion engine. A 265 hp turbocharged gasoline engine and three turbodiesels with 122, 150 and 193 hp complete the powertrain range. Always standard is the DSG dual-clutch transmission. The gasoline engine and the diesel have 4Motion all-wheel drive on board as standard.

Large-scale Display landscape

The interior is also completely new, with a clearly structured, large-screen display landscape. The technical basis is the new^ generation of the modular infotainment system with intuitive operability. In addition, the new Passat Estate is being launched with an enhanced range of assistance systems. The range is expanded to include a parking assistance system.

A new level of chassis technology is offered by the DCC Pro adaptive chassis control system with its wide spread between dynamics and comfort. This is made possible by the 2-valve technology used for the first time in a VW. The enlarged wheelbase allows more legroom in the rear and up to 1920 liters of trunk volume.
