The lunar vehicle, which Toyota is currently working on together with the Japanese space agency Jaxa, uses the same fuel cell technology as the Toyota Mirai sedan.
Living space with 13 square meters
Toyota has been working with Jaxa on a corresponding rover study with a pressurized cabin since May 2018. Two or even four astronauts can temporarily work and live in 13 square meters of living space without having to wear spacesuits.
The six-meter-long study is also mobile thanks to the fuel cell system. It can be controlled by the occupants or from a distance, or even drive autonomously.

Vehicle for moon base or tours
The Apollo program's moon rover ran on electric power and was used by the astronauts in their spacesuits like a convertible. The fuel cell car is obviously intended for longer trips, perhaps also as a vehicle for a lunar base or for the first astronauts on Mars
