Porsche: Macan, Cayman and Boxster as GTS 🎥

SIMPLY FUN TO DRIVE At Porsche, three letters traditionally stand for driving pleasure in its purest form. Now the Macan, Boxster and Cayman models are also available in the sporty GTS versions. GTS
The fast trio of 718 Cayman GTS 4.0, Macan GTS and 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 are now on sale.

GTS means Gran Turismo Sport and is originally a homologation designation from motorsport. The 904 Carrera GTS was first given the epithet in 1963. Currently, the name suffix GTS designates particularly sporty and exclusive models in a Porsche model series.

Sportiness and emotions
The new GTS is positioned between the 354-hp S and the Turbo. Although the latter is superior to it with an output of 440 hp, the GTS with its 380 hp is considered the sportiest and most emotional Macan. No other mid-size SUV from Stuttgart sits lower on the road. The body was lowered by 15 millimeters for the GTS, the steering was designed to be emphatically dynamic, and the suspension was equipped with adaptive dampers as standard. Nevertheless, the GTS is not a tough car, but is absolutely suitable for everyday use with room for five people and luggage. Initial test drives have shown that the tasks in the specifications have been completed in the best possible way.

GTS
The Macan GTS V6 SUV, which now has a displacement of 2.9 liters, is available from 103,000 Swiss francs.

Distinctive identifying marks
Visually, too, the mid-size SUV with the Gran Turismo Sport label focuses on dynamics. The front apron with black elements on the air intakes and the 20-inch aluminum wheels in RS Spider design as well as the darkened LED headlights and the LED light strip at the rear are among the GTS distinguishing features. Black window surrounds, a roof spoiler and a sports exhaust system with four large tailpipes round off the sporty exterior appearance.

Cayman and Boxster with 400 hp each
The Stuttgart-based company is expanding the 718 series with the GTS 4.0, whose six-cylinder engine in the Cayman and Boxster produces 400 hp each from four liters of displacement. The engine from the 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4 accelerates both models from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (top speed 293 km/h). The standard sports suspension is lowered two centimeters and features torque vectoring with mechanical rear axle cross-lock. The Sport Chrono Package with enhanced Porsche Track Precision app is also standard. A sports suspension made by Porsche is available as an option, lowering the body by a further ten millimeters.

Standard six-speed transmission
The mid-engine sports cars transmit their power via a six-speed transmission, feature a sports exhaust system and roll on 20-inch alloy wheels in satin black.
High-performance tires measuring 235/35 ZR 20 at the front and 265/35 ZR 20 at the rear reveal the perforated discs and red calipers of the reinforced braking system.
Dark contrasting details indicate the special status of the GTS vehicles: This applies to the spoiler lip, the all-black air intake of the front fascia, the lenses of the front fog lights, the lenses of the taillights and the redesigned rear lower section.

On request crimson or chalk
The interior is characterized by dark Alcantara. The optional GTS interior package adds another color to the mix: the choice is between crimson or chalk.
This can be used to accentuate the dial of the tachometer, the seat belts, all decorative stitching including the embroidered GTS emblem in the headrests, and the Porsche lettering on the black-trimmed floor mats. The trim elements and the center console trim are made of carbon.

Mark Webber demonstrated the genes of the Boxster GTS 4.0 to Stefan Donat of AutoSprintCH

First test drives with Mark Webber
First driving impressions after demo drives with Formula 1 driver Mark Webber on the Autódromo do Estoril racetrack: You can't get much better than this when it comes to the relationship between man and machine. Even after the first few minutes of driving, it's clear that everything is just right. The gears are short and crisp. Even in light rain, both models pull cleanly through the curves and the drive of the nippy runabout doesn't roar during fast sprints, it sounds rich and satisfied. Mark Webber puts it in a nutshell at 200 km/h: "Anyone who gets to drive so compactly is a happy person."
