The new Opel Astra Sports Tourer offers optimized aerodynamics and economical engines.
In conjunction with improved aerodynamics, the three-cylinder engine generation is up to 19 percent more fuel-efficient than its predecessors. And a counter-rotating balancer shaft reduces noise.
The all-aluminum units with displacements of 1.2 to 1.5 liters offer a power range from 105 to 145 hp. The standard fuel consumption of the four gasoline engines and two diesels ranges between 4.4 and 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers according to the new WLTP method.
Sport suspension and firmer dampers
An optimized engine compartment cover, a deflector-shaped rear axle control arm and a cover for the radiator grille ensure the better cW value. The upper and lower sections of the radiator grille open and close automatically and independently of each other. This improves the frontal airflow.
New shock absorbers enhance ride comfort. The optional sport suspension adds firmer dampers, more direct steering, and a more responsive Watts Link rear axle. In addition, the Astra comes with a more powerful front and rearview camera, the E-Call emergency call system, and an optional wireless charger for smartphones. Also new (and above all practical) is the heated windshield.
Market launch, price and equipment variants for Switzerland have not yet been determined.
