Kia increased sales by 4.7 percent last year compared to 2017 and even doubled them to 494,304 units sold worldwide since 2008. The half-million mark is likely to be reached in 2019.

The new ProCeed GT could make an important contribution to this. It is expected to make it into the top five manufacturers in its C segment in Europe.

From Europe for Europe
The new Kia ProCeed GT and GT-Line combine the spaciousness and flexibility of a five-door tourer with the elegance of a Shooting Brake. Designed at Kia's European design center in Frankfurt, the body shape is seen as a dynamic alternative to the traditional three-door coupe. The ProCeed's silhouette is flatter and longer than that of other Ceed models. Both share the same platform.

The interior is sportier than the standard variant. The D-shaped steering wheel, the sports seats (offer good support) and the light-alloy shift paddles for the models with dual-clutch transmission are striking.

With 140 or 204 turbo hp
In Switzerland, two turbocharged gasoline engines with direct injection are now offered, both with the 7-speed DSG. The ProCeed GT-Line has the 1.4 T-GDi engine with 140 hp under the hood (205 km/h top speed), the more powerful GT variant has the 1.6 T-GDi with 204 hp. This makes it possible to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and reach a speed of 225 km/h.

The little one also differs from its more powerful brother in wheel and tire size (17- instead of 18-inch), lower fuel consumption, weight and towing capacity.

Good compromise
The ride comfort of both model variants has been specially adapted to conditions in Europe and European tastes. The chassis engineers have achieved a good compromise between dynamics, driving pleasure and long-distance comfort. The chassis (McPherson and Stabi at the front, multi-link axle with torsion bar and coil springs at the rear) was tested on country roads in the Eifel and on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, among other places.

Everything in for under 37000 francs
In Switzerland, the purchase price is 36,900 Swiss francs for the GT-Line and 39,900 Swiss francs for the GT. The high-quality equipment is identical except for a few points. The only options are a panoramic glass roof for 1500 francs and a metallic and/or Pearl paint finish for 650 francs extra.
