With the 500 and Panda models, Fiat is offering the first electrified vehicles.

The drive technology of the Fiat 500 Hybrid and Fiat Panda Hybrid is identical. The internal combustion engine is the three-cylinder gasoline engine from the FireFly series, which generates 70 hp from one liter of displacement.

Reduction of emissions
The unit combines a belt-driven starter-generator that operates in the 12-volt vehicle electrical system with a lithium-ion battery. Compared with a conventional starter motor, the RSG system realizes a significantly more comfortable, vibration-free operation of the automatic start-and-stop system. Last but not least: Emissions are significantly reduced

Emotions and practice
As far as the targeted clientele is concerned, both small cars could easily coexist: Since the launch of the new edition, the Fiat 500 has been aimed at a lifestyle audience for whom design and the attitude to life expressed are important.
The Panda, on the other hand, which is also available with all-wheel drive, appeals to customers for whom the functionality and versatility of the five-door model are more important.

Sales launch in Switzerland

For the premiere of the two hybrids, Fiat has also come up with a new paint scheme, with a soft touch of tinting that can be ordered as dew green.
In Switzerland, the hybrid models will be available later this month. Prices start at 13,990 Swiss francs.
