Last fall, BMW expanded its range in its top segment with a completely newly developed eight-seater coupe that is both luxurious and highly sporty. BMW never left any doubt that it would not remain with just one body variant and is now starting to expand the eight-seater range with the convertible.

Soft top opens and closes in 15 seconds
The soft top of the convertible bears the lines of the coupe and can be opened and closed at speeds of up to 50 km/h, taking 15 seconds each time. It's impressive how, when the soft top is closed, the otherwise almost unavoidable soft-top noise is virtually eliminated in the new eight.
Here, Rolls-Royce's know-how has been put to good use and the soft top has not only been particularly well insulated, but any protruding edges have been avoided.

Comfortable cruiser or racer depending on requirements
Sophisticated chassis technology and the powertrain make the convertible a dignified, comfortable cruiser for sun worshippers. Sports car fans will enjoy it when they take to the track.
The 4.4 V8 of the M850i with 530 hp in particular masters this balancing act perfectly, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds or gliding smoothly along the boulevard.
That has its price, but in addition to the M850i starting at 169,200 francs, there is an 840d with 320 hp at 136,700 francs. Later, the portfolio will be supplemented by a six-cylinder gasoline engine with 340 hp.
