Technology: How to optimize a chassis

COURSES IN BERN The Gewerblich Industrielle Berufsschule Bern (GIBB) is holding two one-day courses in chassis technology on April 1 and 2. Renowned instructors and speakers will be present. Using practical examples, the course participants learn how to adjust a chassis.

On the first day, the basic course is on the agenda, and on the second day, an in-depth course. Participants learn the "red thread" through axle kinematics and take home tools, procedures and knowledge from the course. They can then apply these directly to their car.

Correct tuning of a vehicle
The courses are aimed at interested parties who want to measure and adjust a sporty car with modified suspension parts in practice, modify and tune a race car, or simply deepen their knowledge of suspension technology. The advanced course is aimed specifically at aspiring race mechanics and tuners, as well as racing drivers who like to work on their vehicles themselves.

Experience of KW Switzerland and Schläppi Race-Tec
The organizer and main speaker is Dipl. Ing. FH Andreas Schranz, vocational school teacher at GIBB and chassis consultant. Alongside him, Peter Banz from KW Switzerland will be giving a presentation on April 1. Banz will also bring along perfect demo material.

Gewinder crawler tracks, such as those from KW, require specialist knowledge in order to be able to use them optimally. This is what you learn on the in-depth course.

On April 2, racing driver and team boss Mathias Schläppi from Schläppi Race-Tec will give a short presentation. The former Dynamic Test Center employee knows a lot about vehicle conversions.

Registration until 15 March
The course content is developed theoretically and illustrated with demonstrations on vehicles, chassis parts, models and simulations.

The cost of a one-day course (8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) is 300 Swiss francs per participant, including course materials and meals.

Registration is to be made via the GIBB homepage (link "Fachtechnische Weiterbildungen"). The deadline for registration is March 15. The number of participants is limited.
