Ambri airfield is an ideal and beautifully located slalom site. However, the long planned reconstruction works are to start soon, which will also influence the course setting.

Although the announcement was published only two weeks ago and the entry deadline is set for March 22, the 8th Automobile Slalom Test Days of the Equipe Bernoise on March 29 and 30 are already fully booked.

Good preparation for the SM start in Interlaken
The number of participants is limited to 60 vehicles per day. These are divided into three groups that complete specific slalom exercises.

Afterwards, a large slalom will be set out, which can be raced several times without timekeeping. The course will be similar to that of the SM final race scheduled for October 5/6. One week after the test days, the race in Interlaken will take place (April 6), which will open the 2019 Swiss Slalom Championship.

OC leader Walter Kupferschmid and his team are trying to arrange an additional third test day.

Walter Kupferschmid: "There is only the chance that we can also race on Sunday. But that depends on the approval of the municipality of Ambri and, above all, on the willingness of the helpers to be available for an additional day. Because without them it won't work."

The decision on this will not be made before the end of next week. Until then, the supernumeraries will remain on the waiting list. The general meeting of the Equipe Bernoise will also take place on February 16.

Information on the state of affairs can be found on the EB homepage.
