VBO board member Stefan Liechti presents the symbolic donation check to Velasca Zaugg, the managing director of RoadCross Switzerland.

The race taxi rides at the Oberhallau mountain race are a unique experience for spectators. As a passenger of a professional race driver, the guests experience the three-kilometer-long and 157-meter-high mountain race course from the driver's point of view. In doing so, the passenger also does something good, as all proceeds from the race taxi rides go to various social projects and organizations.

Preventive occasions at schools
From the proceeds of the cab rides from last year's mountain race, the VBO transferred the donation amount of 3000 francs to the foundation "RoadCross Switzerland". This foundation is committed to safe mobility for all road users and helps those affected by traffic accidents. In order to prevent accidents, the foundation organizes prevention events at high schools and vocational schools, reaching around 18,000 teenagers and young adults per year.

The vision of making road traffic in Switzerland safer is also close to the heart of the VBO. This is one reason why the people of Schaffhausen were happy to support this institution financially. Further details about "RoadCross Switzerland" can be found on the Internet.

This year's Oberhallau hill climb will take place on August 24/25, 2019.
