Motorsport: Swiss success at 24-hour race

The International Endurance Series is the little man's endurance championship, so to speak. At the 24-hour race in Le Castellet last weekend, the Swiss drivers made a big impression. As in the last race at Zandvoort over 12 hours, Precote Herberth Motorsport from Germany won over the full marathon distance at the Circuit Paul Ricard of Le Castellet in southern France. Alongside Germans Alfred and Robert Renauer and Ralf Bohn, Daniel Allemann was the fourth man to take to the wheel of the Porsche 991 GT3 R. The quartet took the lead in the third hour and extended it to 14 laps by the finish after 591 laps (3452 km).

Class victory for Hofor Racing
Hofor Racing by Widberg Motorsport experienced a heart-stopping finale. The team from Aargau opted for somewhat slower lap times with the Mercedes AMG SLS GT3 in order to be able to start in the Pro-Am classification. The calculation worked out in the end, as the team with Michael and Chantal Kroll, Roland Eggimann, Christiaan Frankenhout (NL) and Kenneth Heyer (D) moved up to third place overall thanks to unforeseen stops by direct GT3 opponents. In addition, the proven quintet once again clinched class victory in a race of this endurance championship with FIA status.

Class victory for the Swiss Renault Clio
Fredy Barth, Jean-Paul von Burg and Oliver Ditzler as well as Jürgen Krebs (D) were pleased with third place in the Pro-Am category after an almost trouble-free race. Their disadvantage had been the greater tire wear due to the higher power and lower downforce of the Huracan. Von Burg and Ditzler are otherwise active in the Porsche Cup Suisse. In the A2 class, the presenza.eu Racing Team took victory with the Renault Clio Cup IV driven by the Swiss trio of Luigi Stanco, Stefan Tanner and Stephan Jäggi, along with Dutchmen Christian Dijkhof and Michel Schaap. In an Austrian team, Nico Rindlisbacher finished second in the Porsche 991 Cup car class.
