Motorsport: Three championship titles for Hofor Racing

What Rebellion is in the World Endurance Championship, Hofor Racing/Widberg Motorsport is in the 24H Endurance Series. The private team from Aargau won three championship titles in 2016 and provided the best Mercedes GT privateer driver. As part of the end-of-season celebration, Mercedes-AMG honored the best drivers and teams in the brand's internal AMG Customer Sports Championship. In this classification, all Mercedes-AMG GT3 drivers from the most diverse racing series worldwide compete. Only AMG Performance Teams and drivers with extended factory support as well as drivers contractually bound to Mercedes-AMG or Daimler AG do not receive points.

Hofor Racing, which together with Widberg Motorsport entered one or two Mercedes-AMG SLS GT3s in the 12- and 24-hour races of the 24H Endurance Series, may be considered the best driver team. In the Pro classification, Kenneth Heyer collected most of his points as a member of the mostly five-driver Swiss team. The son of the legendary Hans Heyer received a new Mercedes production car as a prize winner.

Father and daughter Kroll in second place
In the privateer category, Michael Kroll and his daughter Chantal took joint second place. First place - and thus a new car - only slipped through their fingers because shorter GT sprint races were rated exactly the same as the x times longer endurance races. The best-known race of the 24H Endurance Series of the Dutch organization Creventic is the 24 Hours of Dubai, which will take place again in just three weeks. Hofor will then compete for the first time with the newly acquired Mercedes-AMG GT3. The fact that the team from Aargau scored its points with the retired SLS GT3 is the only blemish from Mercedes' point of view.
