Corvette Racing is banking on consistency for the IMSA Sports Car Championship. In support of the regular duos Garcia/Magnussen (defending champions) and Gavin/Milner, Marcel Fässler and Mike Rockenfeller, who drive for Audi in Europe, will be fielded as the third drivers on the two Corvette C7.R cars in the major endurance races. This was announced by Corvette Racing on January 2.

Preparation for 24 Hours of Daytona
The racing season begins for Fässler, as it does for several other Swiss (including Simon Trummer on Cadillac DPi and Simona de Silvestro on Honda Acura NSX), this weekend with official testing at Daytona International Speedway. The 24 Hours of Daytona is scheduled as the first championship round in three weeks.

Marcel Fässler will take turns with Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin in the number #4 Corvette. With the American and the Briton, the man from Schwyz captured second place in the GTLM class at the Petit Le Mans last October. Corvette has not yet communicated whether Fässler will also start for Corvette Racing there and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, but it is very likely.

Memories of the class victories in 2016
With Corvette Racing, Fässler celebrated his only victory to date at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2016. Two months later, he also won the 12 Hours of Sebring, where he clinched overall victory with Audi in 2013.

Marcel Fässler: " The class win three years ago at Daytona is a highlight of my career that I'll always remember fondly. It would be nice if it would work out again. Three months ago Olli, Tommy and I finished second at Road Atlanta. We want to build on that. It's definitely the best way to get back into racing mode after the holidays."

The following video gives a brief insight into the work of Corvette Racing with interviews with team manager Ben Johnson and project manager Doug Fehan. Marcel Fässler and his Corvette can also be seen in it.
