Around 50,000 spectators followed the four-day Ferrari Festival at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza last weekend. Among them were the most important strategists from Maranello as well as the current and former drivers of Scuderia Ferrari.

Christophe Hurni was the only driver from Switzerland to take part in the Ferrari Challenge Europe this year. After two victories and a second place at the previous Ferrari meetings in Brno and Barcelona, the soon-to-be 57-year-old from Neuchâtel traveled to Monza as the leader of the standings in the Coppa Shell for silver drivers.

Christophe Hurnik crowned his already successful Ferrari season by winning the world championship title in the Coppa Shell for silver drivers.

The last race weekend of the year went almost perfectly for Hurni. His fourth win of the season in the first race and sixth place in the second race earned the Swiss driver of a Ferrari 488 Challenge from Garage Zenith in Lausanne the Coppa Shell championship title.

In the subsequent world final race of 23 silver riders from all over the world, Hurni won by 2.4 seconds after 31 minutes (15 laps).

Runner-up title for Fabienne
Fabienne Wohlwend was similarly successful. The Liechtenstein native, who competes for the Zurich-based Octane 126 team, was the best driver from the Pro-Am category in qualifying for Challenge Europe.

In changeable weather and correspondingly difficult conditions Fabienne Wohlwen showed a remarkable performance at the wheel of the Ferrari 488 from Octane 126.

Although she only made it through the first race in fifth place, the runner-up title behind Briton Chris Froggatt, who had previously been the overall winner, was no longer in her grasp. She was also the only woman to win the Trofeo Pirelli Am Ladies solo.

World champion Pro-Am driver
Fabienne also came up trumps again at the World Final. This time she was able to keep Froggatt behind her and take the class win in the Trofeo Pirelli in the Pro-Am category. Wohlwend finished fourth overall, just three seconds behind winner Nicklas Nielsen from Denmark. Respect, congratulations!

Fabienne Wohlwend was able to receive several trophies at the weekend in Monza.

Nielsen also won the overall Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli with no less than ten victories in 14 races. German Björn Grossmann, who has been driving for Octane 126 for years, had to settle for two victories, eight second places (seven times behind Nielsen) and the runner-up title in 2018.

Grossmann started the world final run from pole position, but retired after one lap. In the team standings from all categories, Octane 126 took third place, Kessel Racing (separate report to follow) sixth.
