In the GT Open, Emil Frey Racing drove its Lamborghini to a double victory in the drivers' championship and victory among the teams. In the GT World Challenge Europe, the bar will be raised again in 2020.

The GT World Challenge Europe - formerly the Blancpain GT Series - is the most competitive GT3 series in the world. The density of professional teams, engineers and drivers is extremely high here. Emil Frey Racing is rising to the challenge and will be entering two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO cars in the top PRO category.

Back on Pirelli tires
In mid-November, the drivers and team were able to familiarize themselves with the Pirelli tires for the first time during a test at Paul Ricard. Michelins were used in the GT Open. The data collected during the test will be analyzed in detail over the winter to maximize vehicle performance. Further tests will follow at the beginning of the year to prepare as well as possible for the season opener in Monza in mid-April 2020.

Ricardo Feller the only Swiss driver
Albert Costa (E), Giacomo Altoè (I), Norbert Siedler (A) and Mikaël Grenier (CDN) put in a solid performance last season, securing a cockpit for 2020. Newcomers for the five endurance races are 35-year-old Frenchman Franck Perera, who has been a Lamborghini factory driver since 2018, and Swiss Ricardo Feller, who is only 19.

The talented youngster lives in Oberentfelden, just ten minutes from the Emil Frey Racing Workshop in Safenwil. In 2019, Feller won his first GT3 race in the ADAC GT Masters. Pereira will form one trio with Costa and Altoè, Feller the other with Grenier and Siedler.

Realistic target setting
The team boss and his squad are looking forward to their return to the big GT stage. In 20218, Emil Frey Racing won one of the five Blancpain Endurance races with Lexus.

Lorenz Frey-Hilti: "The GT World Challenge is the top class of GT3 racing. The level is really very high. I'm convinced that with hard work we'll learn quickly and get the best out of the given resources. Lamborghini's professional approach and constructive exchange with our engineers and drivers has been great in 2019. We want to be the best Lamborghini team and finish in the top ten on a regular basis."

Five sprints and five endurance races
The GT World Challenge Europe comprises ten season stops, five of which are endurance races and five sprint races. The 2020 season begins on March 12 and 13 with official testing at Le Castellet (F). The first race weekend will be held in Monza (I) from April 17 to 19.
