24H Dubai: Swiss success in the desert

The new motorsport season started for the Swiss team Hofor-Racing the way the last one ended - with a success. Rarely before has the 24-hour race in Dubai been better attended. 100 vehicles lined up at the start of the eleventh edition of the endurance race. This makes the success of Hofor Racing all the more remarkable.

After the team had to settle for only 37th place in qualifying, a strong race to catch up followed in the race. Over the entire distance, the racing team led by the Kroll family worked its way forward. After 24 hours, Hofor-Racing crossed the finish line in fourth place overall.

The SLS AMG GT3 from Hofor-Racing ran like clockwork and was the key to the triumph.

With fourth place, the team took first place in the Pro-Am classification with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3.

Rolf and Mark Ineichen were less fortunate. The pair of Swiss brothers, who won the 24-hour race at the gates of the desert metropolis in 2014, competed in Lamborghini for the first time this year.

Until shortly before the end of the race, everything pointed to the pair's endurance debut being rewarded with a podium finish. However, technical problems put a spanner in the works for Rolf and Mark Ineichen - with 22 minutes to go.
