Steckborn: Success despite a bomb threat

Unintentionally, a bomb atmosphere prevailed at the 4th Memorial Mountain Race Steckborn on Sunday - in the negative sense. Due to an anonymous bomb threat, the race had to be stopped for about two hours for safety reasons.
The Thurgau cantonal police evacuated the threatened starting area with a large contingent. After a thorough search, they were able to reopen the race track and the spectator areas at around 2 pm.
Ideal conditions for all
Conditions were ideal for drivers and spectators. Star driver Marcel Fässler was also pleased about this. The three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans completed several runs in a fast Audi Quattro Rally Group 4.

The professional from Schwyz probably spoke for most of the participants, who created a successful event with their beautiful classic cars.
Around 7000 visitors from all over Switzerland and neighboring countries were counted in the paddocks, in the town and along the race track.
Fifth edition of the Memorial in 2021
The organizers of this motorsport event, which is important for the Lower Lake region, were delighted with the impressive turnout. They agree to organize another hill climb in Steckborn in three years.
