Exterior and interior elements of the collector's item being auctioned off have been tuned part by part by the specialists at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. A painstaking, very elaborate job.

The 450-hp classic sports car will celebrate its world premiere at the Porsche Rennsport Reunion in Laguna Seca (USA) on September 27, 2018. On October 27, 2018, the one-off, which can only be driven on private tracks, will be sold at a Sotheby's auction in Atlanta. The proceeds will benefit the charitable Ferry Porsche Foundation, which was established this year to mark the anniversary of "70 years of Porsche sports cars".

Tuning in the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur
The construction of the one-off vehicle took a total of around one and a half years. First, the bodyshell in "Project Gold" underwent the corrosion protection and painting process of today's production vehicles. The collector's item was then created in Porsche's restoration workshop, assembled and tuned by Porsche Classic specialists. Exterior and interior elements were coordinated with the factory's own experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, under whose direction the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series of the 991 model, limited to 500 units, was realized...

First 911 with newly designed aluminum chassis
To this day, the 993 is a sought-after collector's item; it is regarded as particularly mature and reliable. It was the first 911 to receive a newly designed aluminum chassis. For the first time, the Turbo version was equipped with a biturbo power unit, which in 1995 was regarded as the world's lowest-emission production car engine. Another innovation of the all-wheel-drive Turbo version was the hollow-spoke aluminum rims used for the first time in automotive engineering. Only 345 examples of the 911 Turbo S with its power unit boosted to 450 hp were built.
