The Arosa ClassicCar 2020 thrilled participants and audience, who had to keep their distance, in equal measure.

For the people of Glarus, this year's date (June 4 to 6) simply proves to be too early. The continuing planning uncertainty, the uncertain pandemic situation and economic reasons have prompted the decision to cancel the race again.

Date clash in June 2022
Because a postponement to the fall is also out of the question, the next Kerenzerberg race will not take place until 2022. Instead of staying on the early June date, however, it will then take place two weeks later.

In doing so, they are upsetting the people of Toggenburg, who have also long since planned the Hemberg mountain race, which is part of the Swiss championship, for the weekend of June 18/19, 2022, and already announced this last year. So the last word regarding the date may not yet have been spoken.

It will not be until June 2022 that participants will again ride up the Kerenzerberg overlooking the Linth plain.

Arosa as a welcome exception
On the other hand, things are looking good for the Arosa ClassicCar, which is being held for the 17th time. The mountain race for historic sports cars and youngtimers was one of the few events that could take place in Switzerland in 2020 thanks to strict measures.

Spectators were only allowed to be along the track at a proper distance from each other. Thanks to the expected relaxations in the second half of the year, there could be more again this year, also in the event area.

Proven classes with an innovation
The OC plans to hold the event again next September (2nd to 5th) as in previous years. At the mountain race can be driven in different categories such as uniformity (Classic & Sport Trophy), Competition (Standard & Formula) and demonstration class (Alpine Performance).

New this year is the possibility to register a co-driver in the classification class "Arosa Classic Trophy".

Tender is online
The announcement and the entry tool for registration are now available online. The registration for marshals is also already open.

All marshals who register by April 30, 2021 will be entered into a draw for a 2-day stay in Arosa including hotel accommodation and a performance at the Arosa Humorfestival 2021.

Porsche on board
As official Car Partner the company Porsche could be won, which will inspire the audience and especially the bookers of a race taxi ride with its attractive cars.
