WorldSkills
Florent Lacilla and Steve Rolle (both from the canton of Fribourg) and Damian Schmid (St. Gallen) want to go to the WorldSkills vocational championships in Kazan (Russia).

Florent Lacilla, Stefan Rolle and DamianSchmid qualified at the SwissSkills in September, where they took the first three places in the automotive mechatronics category.
On December 8, 2018, the next test will follow at Mobilcity in Bern: the Eurocup with 14 automotive mechatronics technicians from five countries. The participants come from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy (South Tyrol) and Luxembourg. The best of the three Swiss will travel to the vocational world championships in Russia next summer.

It is about the title of professional world champion
One of the trio will compete for Switzerland for the title of world champion in automotive technology. Olivier Maeder, Vocational Training Manager at the Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz: "Mental strengths are just as important as technical know-how. All of them have realistic chances of getting the ticket for Kazan."
The WorldSkills vocational championships take place every two years. Thanks to its dual vocational training system, Switzerland is regularly among the most successful participating nations.
