On their return, the World Skills heroes were received in an emotional setting at Messe Zürich. In addition to the proud SwissSkills organization and the even prouder families, friends and work colleagues, Federal Councillor Schneider-Ammann also took the opportunity to pay tribute to the outstanding performance of the Swiss delegation with eleven gold medals, six silver medals and three bronze medals. The two candidates from the bodywork industry also stood in the middle of this shower of medals, as Maurus von Holzen and Heiko Zumbrunn were able to establish themselves on the podium twice and hold their own against the strong Asian competition.

Over 1300 participants and 100,000 visitors
Every two years, over 1300 young professionals take part in the WorldSkills in 51 professional disciplines. It is a professional competition that is watched by around 1000 journalists and over 100,000 visitors. Top performances are demanded from the candidates. The VSCI and its members actively support this competition, so the current Swiss professional champions in the disciplines of car body painting and car body tinsmithing are always accompanied to World Skills.

The current medals prove that the Swiss cross-country skiers are among the best in the world, and they want to continue to live up to this claim in the future!
