Vignette
The new freeway sticker must be affixed by the end of January, otherwise there is a risk of a fine.

The 2018 freeway sticker is valid until January 31. From then on, anyone driving on a freeway or road without a valid sticker who is caught by the police will pay a fine of 200 francs. The new sticker can be obtained almost anywhere - even from a garage. Markus Peter, Head of Technology & Environment at the AGVS: "Our professionals are happy to help with the change."

A removal kit is practical
For those who want to remove them themselves, the expert recommends a vignette removal kit. It contains a scraper with a razor-sharp blade and a cleaning fluid to loosen the adhesive residue. Markus Peter: "Under no circumstances should you use a kitchen knife, cutter or screwdriver to get to grips with the vignette. You can easily injure yourself and secondly scratch the window."

Trailers also need vignette
The new vignette this year is in the basic color sky blue metallic and with yellow year on the adhesive and white on the front. It is valid immediately until January 31, 2020. Markus Peter: "Every vehicle needs one - even trailers." Removal and reattachment to the same or another vehicle is prohibited.

... and this is how you glue according to the instructions
The vignette must be affixed directly to the vehicle in the prescribed location without the use of other materials: on the inside of the windshield in the case of cars, and on an easily accessible and non-replaceable part in the case of trailers and motorcycles. Only then is it valid. It is important that visibility is not restricted and that the vignette is clearly visible from the outside.
