Total production of Subaru all-wheel-drive vehicles has reached the mark of over 15 million units. This milestone was achieved in the 44th year of production. In 2015, 98 percent of all Subaru vehicles sold worldwide had all-wheel drive. Worldwide, Subaru is the number 1 (world's largest manufacturer of all-wheel drive passenger cars). According to the importers' association auto-schweiz, more than 129,000 Subaru all-wheel-drive vehicles roll on Swiss roads every day.

Background: Subaru's "Symmetrical AWD" system combines reliable traction with high driving stability in all situations. This is achieved primarily through the use of longitudinally mounted boxer engines. Their flat design enables a particularly low center of gravity.
