The new (familiar) man at the top joined Seat in 2016 as the board member responsible for sales and marketing and has played a key role in developing the company.

Founder of the sporty brand Cupra
Over the past three years and until the first quarter of 2020 (before the Covid period), Seat has been the fastest growing brand in Europe.

With Wayne Griffiths at the helm of sales and the largest product offensive to date, the company set a sales record with an increase of more than 40 percent between 2016 and 2019. The new CEO is also one of the founders of the sporty Cupra brand.

Career start at Audi in Ingolstadt
The son of a car dealership owner, Wayne Griffiths began his career in the family business before studying international management and German in Leeds, UK.

Wayne Griffith's career is closely linked to the Volkswagen Group. He started at Audi AG in Ingolstadt in 1989. After working for Seat for two years (1991 to 1993), he returned to the German brand, where he held various positions in the commercial department in different markets.

In 2016, Wayne Griffiths was appointed to the Seat Board of Directors for Sales and Marketing, in January 2019 he took over as CEO of Cupra, and earlier this year he was appointed Chairman of the brand's Supervisory Board.

Production runs at seven sites
Seat employs over 15,000 people at its production sites in Barcelona, El Prat de Llobregat and Martorell. The Ibiza, Arona and Leon models are produced there.

In addition, the Ateca is produced in the Czech Republic, the Alhambra in Portugal, the Tarraco in Germany and the Mii electric in Slovakia.
