This year, the J.D. Power survey is based on responses from 12,854 people surveyed online between November 2018 and January 2019 on the categories of quality, reliability, appeal and maintenance costs.
All ratings result in a ranking in which the brand or model with the lowest frequency of faults emerges as the winner.
