Each color was chosen with complex blends and pigments to highlight the appearance of the Ariya.

The Ariya gave the color design team experts the opportunity to create a whole new identity for electric mobility. The two color shades Akatsuki Copper and Aurora Green were developed specifically for this model.

Lesley Busby, color manager at Nissan Design Europe, says, "The Ariya is the culmination of our expertise in electric mobility and a strong statement for the future of electric car design. That's why we developed a futuristic design language for the shades."

Refined mixture of different shades
Akatsuki Copper is inspired by the Japanese word for dawn. The metallic sparkle is reminiscent of the conductivity of copper wires and represents the drive technology of the model.

Aurora Green is named after the phenomenon of the Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis. Through a sophisticated mixture of different hues, the color appears green or purple depending on the viewing angle.

The Ariya is available in various power ratings, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and two battery sizes.

Expansion of existing production technologies
But not only the shades are new, the production techniques have also been optimized. At the heart of the Pearl Black shade is a newly developed pigment that increases color depth and creates a fresh appearance.

In Pearl White, a complex and clear composition has been achieved that offers more brilliance and clarity than ever before. The black contrast roof shows a special depth of color.

Reduction of CO2 emissions by 25 percent
To improve sustainability on the paint line, Nissan has developed a water-based paint. This enables paint to be applied at a lower temperature so that all parts of the vehicle can be painted together. This reduces CO2 emissions by 25 percent.
