The BT62, with a dry weight of 972 kilograms, pumps out 700 hp from its 5.4-liter V8 engine.

The background to this is the return of the iconic Brabham brand. It will compete with the BT62 at Brands Hatch in November as part of the Britcar Into the Night race.

On the track, Jack Brabham won the British GP 53 years ago in his Repco-Brabham BT19. He was and remains the only world champion to win his title in a car bearing the driver's name.

Many successes in Formula 1 races
Brabham and Goodyear have combined for 26 Formula One victories. After Jack Brabham, Denny Hulme won the second consecutive world championship title for Brabham and Goodyear in 1967, before Brabham stars such as Carlos Reutemann, Niki Lauda and Carlos Pace stood at the top of the podium with the Goodyear cap in the 1970s. And in 1981, Nelson Piquet - after switching to Goodyear - secured the title at the season finale in Las Vegas.

If the BT62 is purchased with road approval, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport is used.

Goal is a victory at the 24H Le Mans
Behind the company today is David Brabham, the son of Sir Jack Brabham. Together with Goodyear, he wants the brand to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The BT62 will only be built 70 times. A 700-hp 5.4-liter V8 engine meets a dry weight of 972 kilograms, so it gets specially developed tires similar to those used by Goodyear in the WEC World Endurance Championship.
