Plastic
The original open-top Citroën Méhari is made of pure plastic.

Background: Since the late 1940s, hundreds of manufacturers of cars, sports cars, trucks and also recreational vehicles around the world have been using GFRP (meaning glass fiber reinforced plastic) and, more recently, in many cases CFRP (a very similar process but with carbon fibers) for the production of car bodies.

Chevrolet or Renault from plastic
Since GRP is faster and cheaper to process and produce than sheet steel or aluminum, small-series manufacturers in particular were happy to use this process, but large manufacturers such as Chevrolet and Renault have also remained loyal to the plastic to this day.
The show Fantastic Plastic displays a unique variety of such vehicles and gather owners of vehicles such as Renault Alpine, Ashley Laminates, Bond, Daimler SP, Fairthorpe, Chevrolet Corvette, Unipower, Trident, Studebaker Avanti, Tornado, Pilgrim, DeTomaso, Matra, Rochdale, Microplas, Turner, TVR, Lotus, Orion, Ogle, Reliant, Albar or Enzmann.

Vehicles from small series production
All makes and years are admitted to the meeting, the only requirement is a plastic body. Since the vast majority of vehicles come from small series production, they are rarely encountered in normal everyday life. Fantastic Plastic offers all interested parties the opportunity to experience such rarities up close.
The event starts at 10am and lasts until 4pm, participation is free.
