Chassis: modern technology for the Carrera GT 🎥

TUNING More than twenty years ago, Porsche presented the high-flying Carrera GT. Now, suspension manufacturer KW Automotive has a new V5 coilover suspension on offer for the classic from Zuffenhausen.

V10 mid-engine, 5.7 liter displacement, 612 hp, manual 6-speed transmission and carbon fiber monocoque - the Porsche Carrera GT was way ahead of its time. KW Automotive developed a coilover suspension with hydraulic lift system for the customer cars built only 1270 times from 2003 to 2006. The lift cylinders raise the car at the touch of a button (gallery on the left) to overcome obstacles such as steep ramps, construction site shoulders, or speed bumps.

With the newly developed coilover suspension, KW Automotive optimizes the performance of the Carrera GT.

There is a sporty neutral as well as a more comfortable basic setup. If desired, the dampers can be manually adjusted individually in the high-speed and low-speed forces of the compression and rebound stages. Due to the strong support of the damping, lower spring rates can be defined, which means more comfort and better support.

New technology for the super sports car

Peter Banz, Managing Director of KW Automotive (Schweiz) AG: "Twenty years after its market launch, the Porsche Carrera GT is still a fascinating super sports car. Although we already had a suspension in our range for the Carrera GT, we have now developed a new displacement technology. The car conveys very high performance with little damper movement, but is comfortable and pleasantly damped during heavy impacts."

The catalog price for the coilover suspension is 21,575 francs - without the lift system 16,955 francs.
