Buses
Drivers affected by fines in Germany should file an appeal.

As a reason, the lawyers of the automobile club ADAC cite a violation of the citation requirement of the Basic Law. The first federal states are said to have already instructed the authorities to apply the old catalog of fines to all open proceedings.

New driving ban rules ineffective

"Due to a formal error in the legal text of the Road Traffic Act, not only the new driving ban rules are likely to be ineffective, but all changes to the April 2020 catalog of fines," the ADAC announced.

Not affected, he said, are the rules of conduct related to the protection of bicyclists.

Appeal against penalty notices
The ADAC recommends that all affected drivers appeal against penalty notices. In these cases, those affected should consult a traffic lawyer to appeal against penalty notices within the 14-day period and demand a change in the legal consequences.
