Bugatti: Just under ten million for the Chiron ProfilĂ©e đŸŽ„

AUKTION The Bugatti Chiron Profilée, a unique specimen in Bugatti history and the last car with an 8-liter W16 engine, sold at the RM Sotheby's auction for a proud 9,792,500 euros.

 

This sale at RM Sotheby's auction, held in Paris on February 1, makes the Chiron Profilée the most valuable new car ever sold at auction. With all production of the Chiron models of the W16 Mistral and the Bolide sold out, the auction of the Chiron Profilée offered the last opportunity to acquire a new Bugatti with the legendary W16 engine directly from the atelier in Molsheim, France. There were fierce bidding battles both in the hall and by telephone.

Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director at Bugatti Automobiles: "Since it was clear that there would only be one Chiron Profilée, it was important to us to give as many people as possible the chance to purchase this vehicle, and we were delighted by the enthusiasm of the global automotive community."

With the highest bid of 9,792,500 euros, the new owner seized the opportunity to add this automotive solitaire to his collection.

Marcus Görig, Car Specialist at RM Sotheby's, said, "The sale of the Chiron Profilée was one of the most anticipated moments of the entire auction, with enormous global interest in the car."

1500-hp version of the 8-liter W16 engine

The name Profilée is inspired by one of Jean Bugatti's first creations, a Type 46 model called Surprofilée with a slimmer silhouette and a flowing rear wing. Like this vehicle, the Chiron Profilée has now inscribed itself in Bugatti's 114-year tradition with its own chapter.

The Chiron Profilée's powertrain features the 1500-hp version of the 8-liter W16 engine.

 

The Profilée is the first Chiron whose interior is upholstered ex works in woven leather. The exterior color Argent Atlantique is also unique. The wheel design, which takes up the famous shape of Bugatti's horseshoe-shaped radiator grille, was also developed exclusively for this vehicle.
