From 2020, all new Jaguar and Land Rover will be electrified

JAGUAR LAND ROVER The world's most beautiful electric car - the E-Type Zero - is unfortunately expected to remain a one-off. But all new Jaguar and Land Rover ranges launched from 2020 will have electrified powertrains. "Every new Jaguar Land Rover model range launched from 2020 will also have an electrified variant. Jaguar Landrover electrification
Jaguar showcased new electric models from the brand's past, present and future at the first Tech Fest.

"Every new Jaguar Land Rover model range launched from 2020 will also have an electrified variant. We will roll out a portfolio of all-electric, plug-in and mild hybrid models to give our customers additional choice. Our first all-battery electric model, the Jaguar I-Pace, will launch as early as next year," Jaguar Land Rover CEO Dr. Ralf Speth announced today, September 8, 2017, at the inaugural Jaguar Land Rover Tech Fest held in the grounds of Central Saint Martins College of Art in London. In addition to many interesting topics and projects, three vehicles were the stars:

Jaguar E-Type Zero
The online community did somersaults of joy when images of the electrically powered Jaguar E-Type Zero hit the web. The sports car, hailed by Enzo Ferrari as "the most beautiful car of all time," was unveiled in 1961 and exhibited in a Zero Emission version at the first Jaguar Land Rover Tech Fest in London (Sept. 8-10). Installed is the powertrain in a 1968 E-Type restored at Classic Works, Jaguar Classics' new Coventry location. At 5.5 seconds, the roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h one second faster than the original equipped with Jaguar's famous XK six-cylinder. See also video below.

Unfortunately, only a one-off: The "Concept Zero" model is based on a restored original vehicle and was given a zero-emission powertrain at Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works in Coventry - not far from the birthplace of the legendary original.

Jaguar I-Pace Concept
The Jaguar I-Pace, which will be introduced in 2018, is an all-electric SUV redesigned from the ground up with a sports car-like design, new interior layout and high everyday practicality.

Jaguar Future Type
The virtual Jaguar Future-Type is the vision of a car of the year 2040. The fully autonomous study explores mobility in a networked world of tomorrow, in which cars are no longer personal property but shared with other people. With the help of interfaces, users can individually select their different digital lifeworlds - such as work, family or leisure/play/sport.
The central component of the study is Sayer - the portable steering wheel equipped with artificial intelligence. It is named after Malcolm Sayer, the designer of the Jaguar E-Type.

Sayer can perform hundreds of tasks as the first voice-controlled AI steering wheel. Advanced speech recognition software gives Sayer the expertise to respond to questions, connect to news, organize a trip or select an entertainment medium. Sayer also knows exactly what's currently stored in the fridge - so there will never be a time when the milk is empty, for example. He can also make purchases or simply order a pizza.
