Driving a car and protecting the environment are not mutually exclusive. The Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz (AGVS) has been offering the AutoEnergieCheck (AEC) through its members for five years. It is hardly surprising that the service provided by the AGVS garagists is becoming increasingly well-known and popular.

Little effort
The check (AEC) at the AGVS garagist takes just under half an hour. The time is well invested, because the return on investment is up to 20 percent. According to the association, this is how much fuel can be saved as a result of the check. Evaluations have shown that the CO2 emissions of a vehicle can be reduced by around 1.2 tons per AEC. This is one of the reasons why the federal government and SwissEnergy have been supporting the AEC, which the Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz (AGVS) and its garage owners have been offering for five years now.

Proud balance sheet
Last week, the 30,000th AEC was carried out at Garage Sollberger in Oberentfelden AG. The number of checks and optimizations carried out up to that point has already saved a total of around 36,000 tons of CO2 in Switzerland - a proud record.
