Balanced mid-engine concept
All this is offered by the perfectly balanced mid-engine concept. This includes the newly developed four-liter six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with manual 6-speed transmission. The boxer engine produces 420 hp in both models with combined fuel consumption of 10.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

The heart of the 718 Cayman GT4 is the completely new six-cylinder boxer engine. The naturally aspirated engine is based on the same engine family as the turbo engines in the current 911 Carrera series. The maximum torque of 420 Nm is available from 5000 to 6800 rpm.

According to the factory, the manual sports car breaks through the 300 km/h barrier, and the 718 Cayman GT4 stops at 304 km/h. The car can be driven from a standstill in just a few seconds. From a standstill, it goes to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.

Immediate response
The fascinating character of this naturally aspirated engine combines modern gasoline particulate filter emission control with the linear power delivery and immediate response of a GT unit. The maximum engine speed is reached at 8000 rpm. The unique boxer sound has remained untouched.

Technical highlights such as adaptive cylinder control have also been added. In part-load operation, it temporarily interrupts the injection process at one of the two cylinder banks, thus reducing fuel consumption.

The arrangement and design of the gauges are solid and sensible. In other words, typical Porsche.

Classic sports car for everyday use
The 718 Cayman GT4 drives like a classic sports car. The naturally aspirated engine with 420 hp is always audible in everyday use, but the music starts at about 4000 rpm and keeps on revving blithely until 8000. Probably the greatest gift Porsche could give the true, the real enthusiasts.

The way this car has its movements under control even in the extreme, the balance with which it carries you through the entire curve - it would be difficult to find anything better at the moment.
