Available exclusively as a Combi and in the Active, Ambition and Style equipment lines, the Skoda Octavia G-Tec achieves a range of 480 kilometers in pure, environmentally friendly natural gas mode. Three tanks store a total of 17.7 kilograms of CNG. An 11.8-liter gasoline tank ensures mobility in regions without natural gas filling stations. At 130 hp, the new engine has 20 hp more power than the predecessor model.

CO2 emissions fall by a further 25 percent
Running on CNG reduces CO2 emissions by a further 25 percent compared with gasoline operation, and there are also significantly fewer nitrogen oxides (NOx) and no soot particles. As a result, the Skoda meets the currently strictest emissions standard EU6d-TEMP and is an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional fuels.

Natural gas as an environmentally friendly bridging technology
Natural gas (CNG) has a higher energy content compared to gasoline and diesel. It is less expensive, burns cleaner and is quieter. The environmental balance improves significantly if biogas from wastewater or agricultural production is used instead of CNG, or if synthetic gas is used. The balance can be further improved if renewably generated electricity is used to produce the gas.

The Skoda Octavia OCTAVIA G-Tec 1.5 TSI is expected to be available in Switzerland from January 2019. The price has not yet been fixed.
