With Porsche Cayenne and Panamera Sport Turismo, Stuttgart is pushing the envelope

There is no question that Porsche is once again showing what sportiness means. The new Cayenne is in dealerships, and the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo breaks the 300 km/h barrier.

Every Porsche Cayenne is equipped with LED headlights as standard. The new model looks wider and more athletic. The design is based on the familiar 911.

Old look, new technology That's what you might think at first glance. But the third generation of the Porsche SUV is completely new. Like the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga, the Porsche Cayenne is now based on the MLB platform. A combination of aluminum, carbon fiber and high-strength steel is intended to make the Porsche lighter and more agile.

Off-road capability The Cayenne is strongly inspired by the iconic 911 sports car: the SUV, which has also been visually enhanced, is available with mixed tires and rear-axle steering. In addition to these typical sports car features, the standard active all-wheel drive, Porsche 4D Chassis Control, three-chamber air suspension and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control electric roll stabilization enhance the on-road capabilities. The off-road capability of the Cayenne, which is up to 65 kilograms lighter than its predecessor despite significantly extended standard equipment, remains unrestricted.

Engines up to 550 hp The appearance of the Cayenne has been further developed in the style of Porsche design. The enlarged air intakes at the front are clear signs of the increased performance. The new horizontal light edges make the Stuttgart model appear wider and more athletic. There is a surprise at the rear: the off-roader features the continuous light strip familiar from the Panamera. The most important thing about a Porsche, however, is what it offers in terms of driving dynamics. At the start of sales, there is the 340 hp V6 turbo in the basic model (from 91,500 Swiss francs), a V6 biturbo in the Porsche Cayenne S with 440 hp (from 112,200 Swiss francs) and a 550 hp V8 biturbo in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo (from 169,500 Swiss francs).

Just above idling speed, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo delivers 850 Nm of torque.

Rapid acceleration Porsche is also crowning the Panamera Sport Turismo model series with a powerful plug-in hybrid drive. The top model is the Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo, which combines a 4.0-liter V8 engine with an electric motor. This results in a system output of 680 hp and 850 Nm. This ensures acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The 200 km/h mark is reached after a further 8.5 seconds. And: a top speed of 310 km/h is possible.

Additional downforce The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo also offers the digitalized cockpit and optional rear-axle steering. The roof spoiler is also unique in the segment: Its angle of attack is set in three stages depending on the driving situation and the selected driving mode and generates up to 50 kilograms of additional downforce on the rear axle. Prices start at 230,100 Swiss francs.
